Sea-Themed Father’s Day Card

Sea-Themed Father’s Day Card

Hello there! Today I’m sharing a Father’s Day card featuring products from Picket Fence Studios’ latest release.

I love the new A Sea Turtle’s Journey and thought it would make a perfect Father’s Day card as it has both large and small sea-turtle images. I started by stamping two of the turtles with Black Hybrid ink. I colored them with Copics, added details with a white gel pen, and cut them out with the coordinating dies.

I decided to create a 5″ x 7″ card to ensure the elements had plenty of room. I created my background by sponging a few blue-green inks onto a white panel with the new Ocean Greens Paper Pouncers. Using the Fan Brush, I then added splatters of water and White Paper Splatter. To drive home the ocean theme, I applied Sea Glass Blue Paper Glaze through the Ocean Waves 6×8 Stencil. I love the texture and shine the glaze creates!

Once my panel was dry, I trimmed it down slightly and adhered it to a white card. For my diecut sentiment, I cut “dad” from the Dad/Mom the Best Word Dies from white cardstock a few times. With the Ocean Greens Paper Pouncers, I applied the same inks used on my background to the diecuts, holding them in place with the 4″x4″ Paper Inking Palette. Next, I layered the diecuts together, offsetting the colored ones slightly, and glued them to my card.

The scripty sentiment is from the new Signature Quotes: The Sea stamp set. I stamped it in black, diecut it with the coordinating dies, and adhered it with foam tape. I popped up the turtles with foam, as well, and finished with some iridescent drops from the Island Blues Sequin Mix.
