Hi, friends! Today I’m sharing a pair of cards featuring Spellbinders’ Glimmering Peonies Glimmer Plate and showing two ways to color the image.

My first card features the new Glimmering Peonies Glimmer Plate and Stencil Combo. I absolutely love coloring this beautiful image with stencils and inks! The stencils make it so easy!

Using my Glimmer Machine, I applied Champagne Foil with the Glimmering Peonies hot foil plate. I added several colors of Catherine Pooler inks with various sizes of blending brushes. The blooms were colored with It’s A Girl, Sparkling Berry, Pucker Up and a combination of Chiffon and Catching Rays. For the foliage I used Lime Rickey, In the Park and Aquatini.

To create a frame for my image, I diecut pink cardstock with Spellbinders’ Essential Arches Dies (currently on sale!). I affixed the frame to my image with foam tape and adhered the piece to a white 5″x7″ card.

For my sentiment I used a previously-foiled sentiment from the Must-Have Sentiments Glimmer Plate and Die combo. I blended the diecut with Pucker Up so it would stand out and popped it up with foam. I finished the card with some glittery enamel dots from my stash.

My second card uses the Glimmering Peonies Glimmer Plate without the stencil. I foiled the image with Goil Foil onto blue cardstock.

I have seen other crafters use colored pencils with images on colored cardstock and decided to try that technique with this image. The coloring was so relaxing, and I really like how it turned out! After I finished coloring, I trimmed down the panel and blended the edges with Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Oxides.

Here’s where I think I went off course a bit: I decided to add splatters of gold paint. I don’t love how the splatters turned out (I even blotted up some really large ones, but you can still see evidence of them. Drat.), but there was no turning back – or starting over! Once the splatters were dry, I adhered the panel to an A2 card.

My sentiments are from the new Curved Everyday Sentiments Glimmer Plate and Die Set. I applied Gold Foil with my Glimmer Machine and diecut the banners. I attached two of the sentiments (The set comes with two plates, each with mutliple sentiments.) to my card with foam tape and finished with some gold pearls.
