Hello there! The theme on the Crafty Meraki blog this week is Gift Giving, so I thought it would be fun to create a simple gift box and embellish it with flowers.

First, I chose a lovely striped paper from the Color Cascade Pattern Paper pad. I trimmed the paper to 6″ x 6″ and scored it on all sides at 1″. On two of the sides, I cut the 1″ score line up to where the two score lines bisected to create tabs. I folded each side along the score lines and secured the tabs with strong, double-sided adhesive. For the bottom of my gift box, I cut white cardstock to 5 7/8″ x 5 7/8″ and repeated the steps for scoring, cutting and adhering.

To embellish the top of my gift box, I created some flowers with the Artisan Flora Wreath Builder Dies. I diecut the elements from colored cardstock and blended each piece with coordinating ink to create some dimension. I assembled the blooms with a combination of liquid adhesive and thin 3D foam squares.

Using a retired Spellbinders die from my stash, I cut a pink scalloped circle. I attached the circle to the top of my box with foam tape and arranged my floral elements on top. The sentiment is from the Handmade Love Hot Foil Plate. I foiled the plate with gold foil and diecut the sentiments with the coordinating die. I popped up my sentiment with foam squares and finished with some gems from my stash.

This gift box was super easy to create and lots of fun embellishing! Thanks for stopping by!
