Waffle Flower’s June 2024 Sneak Peek Club

Hi, friends! I’m excited to join Waffle Flower Crafts today to share a couple of projects I created using supplies from their newest Sneak Peek Club Kit! What’s that, you say? It’s a monthly subscription that sends members new products the month before they launch to the public. If you’re not “in the club,” you won’t see the products I’m using today until Waffle Flower’s next release on July 5th. For more info on the club subscription, scroll to the end of this post. Also, I’m giving away this same kit over on Instagram, so pop over if you’d like a chance to win.

For my first card, I focused on the ornaments you can create with the Retro Christmas Tree Die-n-stencil. I chose a soft pink and mint color palette for these ornaments. With the touch of gold, they are super girly and elegant!

The stencil and die create eight ornaments with one pass. In order to fill my card front, I made two sets of ornaments. For both sets I used Catherine Pooler’s Minted and It’s a Girl, alternating the order of colors for each set of ornaments.

To create the gold details on the ornaments, I used Picket Fence Studios’ Golden Rose Paper Glaze, which I applied with a finger dauber. If you try this, be careful not to have too much glaze on the dauber to prevent it from oozing under the stencil. Once the glaze was dry (It’s super quick!), I diecut the ornaments with the coordinating die.

My background features Waffle Flower’s Sweet Plaid Texture A2 Die (not part of the kit), which I diecut from white cardstock. After adhering the diecut panel to a white cardbase, I attached the ornaments with thin 3D foam squares. Between the ornaments I added gold glitter drops. For my sentiment, I used two of the sentiment strips in the kit, popping them up with foam squares.

My second card features the fabulous tree from the Retro Christmas Tree Die-n-stencil along with the beautiful ornaments. This time, I went with a traditional color scheme of red, white, and green.

The colors of the tree are Catherine Pooler’s Lime Rickey, Aquatini and Juniper Mist. I diecut the tree with the coordinating die and adhered it to gold glitter paper, using my scissors to trim away the excess. The glitter paper reminds me of twinkling Christmas lights.

For my ornaments I used Catherine Pooler Samba and Rouge for the red and Oh Boy! for the white portions. To match the gold of my glitter paper, I used Picket Fence Studios’ Bee Sting Paper Glaze for the ornament toppers, again using a finger dauber to add the glaze through the stencil. I diecut the other gold details, including the star on the tree, from the same glitter paper I used behind the tree and glued them to the ornaments.

That peppy striped paper is from the Season’s Greetings Paper pad (a portion is included in the kit). I adhered it to a white card and attached my tree with foam tape. I popped up my ornaments and sentiment strips (again, from the kit) with thin 3D foam squares.

Your two cards are awesome! The Waffle Flower’s Sweet Plaid Texture A2 Die really added wonderfully made card. The colors were just right. I also love the traditional colors on the cool Christmas tree!
