Hi there! I don’t usually send New Year cards, but when I saw Spellbinders’ new Color Mix Celebration Collection, that’s immediately what I came to mind.

I don’t know what I like more about this card – those bold, sparkly numbers or that cute pug! I felt that a New Year’s card needed to be metallic and sparkly (like confetti), so I chose to use the Bold Color Mix Numbers Press Plates for hot foiling, rather than letterpress. I love how versatile BetterPress Plates are!

I started with an A2 panel of pink cardstock and laid out where I wanted my numbers to be. Starting with the top 2 and the 5, I applied Speckled Aura Glimmer Foil with my Glimmer system. Next, I foiled the 0 and, finally, the remaining 2. In hindsight, I wish I had spaced the numbers a tad differently to make it easier to read them (i.e., moved the 5 to the right a bit).

That adorable pug is from the Party Puggles Dies. I love the different accessories and poses for him! I diecut the various elements from colored and metallic cardstocks and added a little ink for dimension. I assembled him with a combination of liquid adhesive and thin 3D foam squares and attached him to my card with foam. He is definitely ready for a party!

For my sentiment I hotfoiled a phrase from the Bold Color Mix Numbers Press Plates with Gold Glimmer Foil. I diecut it with the coordinating dies (Note: Spellbinders has a discounted bundle on the press plates and dies) and popped it up with a strip of foam tape. I finished the card with a scattering of matte gold sequins.
