This kit has the cutest critter dies, and I love that it includes flocking sheets to give those critters yummy texture! What child wouldn’t love to receive a card with touchable animals?!

I diecut the base for each critter from the colored cardstocks included in the kit: gray for the racoon and black for the bear. I diecut the eyes and noses for each animal from black cardstock and all of the other pieces from the colored flocking sheets in the kit. Using a sponge dauber, I lightly dabbed coordinating inks to the flocked diecuts to create a little dimension. After assembling the diecuts, I used a white gel pen and Glossy Accents on the eyes and noses for a little shine.

To keep the focus on those cute animals, I left the background fairly simple. I trimmed an A2 panel from the watercolor cardstock in the kit (I like the texture it gives). After masking off the edges with tape, I blended the panel with blue ink, allowing it to fade toward the center. I removed the tape and stamped a sentiment from the Swanky Sentiments: Birthday set in black onto my panel.

After adhering my panel to a cardbase, I popped up my critters with foam squares. I finished with a few sequins from the sequin mix included in the kit.
