Hi there! Today I’m sharing a pair of projects created with Spellbinders’ Bougie Birthday collection. This collection is such a fun suite of products – perfect for girly-girls or anyone who’s just a little “extra”.

My projects feature the Ganache Gateau and Treat Yourself Gift Card Holder Dies from the Bougie Birthday collection, along with a few, previously-released products from Spellbinders.

I first fell in love with the cake and macarons from the Ganache Gateau Dies. I mean who wouldn’t love a tall cake dripping with frosting and decorated with yummy cookies and meringue?!

I diecut my elements from colored and metallic cardstocks with the Ganache Gateau Dies and the Vintage Florals Dies. Before assembling the diecuts, I added shading with inks in coordinating colors. After assembling each element, I added highlights with a white gel pen.

As the cake is quite large, I decided to create a 5″x7″ card. I embossed pale gray cardstock with the Flowers & Foliage 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to a white cardbase. I attached my cake to the card with foam adhesive and arranged my decorations with a combination of liquid adhesive and thin 3D foam squares.

To create the cake topper, I diecut a sentiment from the Serenade Sentiments Dies from white and glitter cardstocks. I stacked the diecuts for stability and glued them to “sticks” created with the Ganache Gateau Dies. I nestled the cake topper in between the macarons and placed bits of foam behind the sticks.

My second project features the new Treat Yourself Gift Card Holder Dies. While the die set has fun streamers you can use to decorate your gift card holder, I decided to use the Vintage Florals Dies in order to coordinate the holder with my card. The sentiment is from the Gift Card Holder Dies, and I used the cardstocks and inks that I had used on my card.

Assembling the card holder is super simple: Just fold along the score lines and add a little glue to each end of the short fold. I decorated the inside of my holder with a sentiment from the More Sentiments Hot Foil Plates, which I foiled with Champagne Glimmer Foil.
