Hi there! Today I’m sharing a fun card featuring a couple of die sets from Spellbinders – the My Life in Pictures Dies and the Go Kart Go Dies.

While I plan to use the My Life in Pictures Dies on a scrapbook layout in the near future, I thought the filmstrip die would make a fun shaker element (for a card or a layout). I diecut the filmstrip five times from white cardstock. I backed one of the diecuts with clear acetate and stacked the other diecuts behind it. Using stacked diecuts meant I didn’t have to worry about foam tape showing or trying to trim narrow strips of foam.

After placing my diecut facedown onto my work surface, I added some glitter and sequins into each opening. I added liquid adhesive to the filmstrip and placed an A2 panel of white cardstock over it. Alternatively, you could trim a strip of white cardstock to the dimensions of the filmstrip and adhere the shaker to the strip before attaching it to a card. I trimmed the overhang from the filmstrip flush with my panel and glued the panel to a cardbase.

The diecut sentiment is from the My Life in Pictures Dies. I diecut the word twice from gold cardstock and stacked the diecuts onto the white outline. The sub-sentiment is from the retired Everyday Sentiments II Hot Foil Plate & Die and was foiled with Gold Glimmer Foil. I popped up the diecut sentiment with thin 3D foam squares and tucked the foiled sentiment underneath.

I diecut those cute balloons from the Go Kart Go Dies from colored cardstocks. To create some dimension, I added a little ink-blending before assembling the balloons and used a white gel pen for highlights. I attached the balloons with varying heights of foam and finished with a few clear sequins.
