Mardi Gras Inspired Card

Mardi Gras Inspired Card

Hi, friends! Today I’m sharing a fun card featuring new dies from Spellbinders.

My family and I visited New Orleans last month. While our visit was after Mardi Gras, there were still lots of decorations around the city, including a huge jester mask. When I saw Spellbinders’ new Wild Joker Dies, I knew I wanted to make a Mardi Gras themed project.

Using the Wild Joker Dies, I diecut the elements for my jester from colored, glitter and metallic cardstocks and assembled him with liquid adhesive. I added gold pearls as decorations and used a gel pen to create highlights for his eyes.

I created my background with the Starburst Glimmer Plate and Speckled Aura Glimmer Foil (While the plate is retired, you can still find it on Amazon and other retailers). To frame my background, I diecut purple and yellow cardstocks with the Four Petal Labels Dies. After stacking the diecuts, I adhered them to my background with foam tape.

I tucked my jester into the opening, trimming as necessary, and affixed him with foam. I hot-foiled a sentiment from the More Sentiments Glimmer Plate with Gold Glimmer Foil and trimmed it with the coordinating die. I attached my sentiment with thin 3D foam to complete my card.
