Just Because: Combining Diecuts with a Wax Seal

Hi, friends! Life has been crazy busy here, but I finally found time to create a card combining lots of fabulous products from Spellbinders!

The inspiration for this card came from that adorable Bow Mini 3D Wax Seal. I don’t make alot of wax seals, but this one was so much fun! I was tickled pink (no pun intended) that I was able to create several seals with two colors of wax. For inspiration and tutorials on that, I highly recommend checking out the reels on Strictly Rita’s Instagram account.

To highlight that sweet wax seal, I created some lovely flowers with the Field Notes Wildflowers Dies. I diecut the flower cluster from two shades of pink cardstock and the stem and foliage from green. When layering the pink clusters, I slightly offset them to create a shadow with the darker pink cluster.

I diecut an oval from vellum with the Essential Stylish Ovals Dies and embossed it with the Cross My Heart 3D Embossing Folder. I adhered my flowers to the oval with a combination of liquid adhesive and foam. I diecut gold glitter cardstock with the Field Notes Twine Dies twice. After gluing the long twine piece onto the oval, I stacked the four loops and trimmed the excess of the long diecut.

I trimmed a panel of blush cardstock to slightly smaller than A2 size. To create the gold edge, I tapped the sides of my panel into my Versamark ink pad, applied gold embossing powder, and heat-set the powder. I adhered the panel to a white card and affixed the vellum oval with strategically placed bits of foam. I adhered my wax seal and popped up a sentiment I had hotfoiled from the A Little Message Sentiments Press Plate & Die Set. I finished with some tiny gems in the centers of my flowers and a few, gold glitter pearls.
