Hi, friends! Today I’m sharing something totally different – for me anyway! Inspired by Spellbinders’ new Deckside Dreams Dies, I decided to create a shaped mini album to document a cruise my family took a few years back.

How fun is that cruise ship from the Deckside Dreams Dies?!! It is so cool and makes the perfect cover embellishment for my album! The album features a retired collection by Authentique called SeaFarer (If you’re interested, you can still find it at The Frantic Stamper), which I supplemented with a few papers from Carta Bella’s retired Ahoy There collection (available at ScrapbooksRus).

For my album I followed this tutorial by Polly’s Paper Studio. Because I wanted more pages (I have lots of photos!), I doubled the depth of the album and added lots of flaps to the interior. I diecut the panels and pages for my album with Spellbinders’ Notched Corner Frames Dies. To make the album nice and sturdy, I used Cardstock Warehouse’s Ivory Lessebo 111 lb. cardstock.

I diecut the cruise ship elements from white and colored cardstocks and clear acetate. To create the white stripe on my hull, I did some partial diecutting and glued the white stripe onto the red hull. I backed the top half of the ship with clear acetate before attaching it to some medium blue cardstock. I created the waves with a die from the Deckside Dreams Dies, making sure to vary the height and placement of the die when diecutting. I adhered the ship with thin 3D foam squares and attached the top wave with strips of foam tape.

To create a title for my album, I pulled out the Woodland Tales Sentiments Dies. I diecut the two layers from white and navy cardstocks and attached the assembled diecut with thin 3D foam squares.
I had so much fun creating this album and cannot wait to fill it with photos and embellishments! Thanks for stopping by!
