Hello and welcome to Day 2 of Waffle Flower Crafts’ Magical Christmas Release! I’m featuring several new products today, most notably the adorable Birdie Friends in Winter Die and and matching Stencil. I just love those birds in their winter attire!

In addition to the birds and branch, the Birdie Friends in Winter Dies include separate dies for the hats and beaks. I diecut all of my elements from white cardstock and applied color to them through the Birdie Friends in Winter Stencil. To create dimension I layered the separate hats and beaks onto the solid diecuts. For the scarf I simply diecut a second bird, added ink to the scarf, and trimmed it apart.

I ink-blended a panel of white cardstock with blue inks to create a sky and added splatters of white paint to represent snow. Once the panel was dry, I diecut it with the rectangle die from the Oversized Postage Die. Next, I stamped “50 cents” from the Oversized Postage Stamp Set and heat-embossed a sentiment from the Warm Wishes Stamp Set. I adhered the ink-blended panel to a white postage diecut created with the Oversized Postage Die.

For the woodgrain background, I first diecut tan cardstock with the Woodgrain Texture Die. Next, I applied a couple shades of brown ink through the Woodgrain Stencil. I trimmed down the panel and affixed it to a white card.

I adhered the postage diecut to my card with foam tape. I then popped up the branch and birdies with foam, trimming the excess from the branch. I added some white highlights to the birds and glitter glue to the branch to finish my card.
Thanks for stopping by!
