Spooky Scrapbook Layout

Hi there! Today I’m sharing a 12×12 scrapbook layout featuring lots of awesome products from Whimsy Stamps and cardstock from Cardstock Warehouse (CSW).

*Whimsy has an awesome, new release today (I can’t wait to get my hands on the Halloween Tickets collection!), so be sure to check it out. Scroll to the end for a discount code.

When I saw those cool Forever Cameos Dies in the Whimsy shop, I immediately thought of the Halloween costumes my hubby and I wore last year. I couldn’t wait to use those dies to create a layout documenting the fun memory!

Inspired by this layout, I started by diecutting the super-fun Hocus Pocus Designer Paper with the Notched Squares Dies and glued the squares onto white cardstock. I matted my photo with white and amethyst cardstocks and layered some cheesecloth behind it before attaching the photo with foam tape to my background.

To give the illusion of splatter, I applied ink through the Clawed 6×9 Stencil in three areas on my page, creating a visual triangle. Using the stencil allowed me to have control over where I put my “splatter”, which I love.

Using the Forever Cameos Dies, I diecut the skeletons from CSW’s Quartz Metallic Stardream cardstock. I diecut the frames from Onyx Metallic Stardream cardstock with the Forever Cameo Frames Dies. I backed the frames with vellum and glued the skeletons to the vellum. I attached the cameos to my page with foam.

Around the frames and my title, I added bats diecut from Black Diamond MirriSparkle paper. I cut the larger bats with the Bat Reveals Dies and the smaller bats with the Build-a-Graveyard Dies. For a bit of color, I added some sequins from my stash.

I created my title with the Spooky Large Word Die, cutting it from the following cardstocks: Flame Metallic Stardream, Black Diamond MirriSparkle, White Diamond Print Glitter, Lessebo Pitch Black, and Woodstock Giallo. I trimmed parts from the various diecuts and assembled the remaining pieces with a combination of liquid adhesive and bits of foam. To complete my title, I heat-embossed a sentiment from the You’re My Favorite stamp (retired) and diecut it with the Quick Strips Dies. I accented my title with a skull created with the Dracula’s Coffin Dies and a date circle from the Halloween Postage stamp set.

I accented some of the squares on my background with sentiments from the Halloween Postage and Boho Alphabet (retired) stamp sets. The orange spider is leftover from my title. To embellish my photo, I heat-embossed a sentiment from the Good Fright set and diecut it with the Pierced & Stitched Circle Dies.

Thanks for stopping by! I had so much fun creating this layout, and I hope it inspired you!
