Cute Christmas Cards

Cute Christmas Cards

Hi there! I’m excited to share a couple of Christmas cards I created with products from My Pretty Things! They’re new to the scene, only opening up this year, so be sure to check them out!

I’m a sucker for anything Santa, and this Santa with his reindeer pal is so cute! They’re both from the Santa’s North Pole stamp set.

I stamped my images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copics. I cut them out with the coordinating die set and added some highlights and details with a white gel pen.

To create a background for my images, I first ink-blended a panel of white cardstock with the following colors of Catherine Pooler inks: Oh Boy!, Something Borrowed and Dress Blues. I added splatters of water and white paint to represent snow. Once dry, I adhered the background to a cardbase and popped up a snowy hill cut from white cardstock. I added my colored images, popping up some with foam, and used a blue Copic to add some shading underneath them.

I heat-embossed a sentiment from Santa’s North Pole set and adhered it with foam. For some sparkle, I added Crystal Kisses Embossing Powder (applied with a WOW! Embossing Pen) and a few snow sequins from the Snow Flurries mix.

My second card features the Woodland Christmas Friends stamp set, along with the Art Deco Christmas Tree stamp and layered stencils. These sweet friends are definitely ready for the holidays! As with the first card, I colored the images with Copics and cut them out with the coordinating dies.

I created my own “patterned paper” by applying Catherine Pooler inks through the Art Deco Christmas Stencils. I used the inks: Chiffon, Matcha and Do-Si-Do. After drying the panel, I stamped the Art Deco Christmas Tree stamp with Versamark ink and applied Crystal Kisses Embossing Powder. I love the sparkle and subtle texture that created!

To create a focal point for my images, I stacked circles diecut with the Everyday Stitched Circle Dies and Stitched Double Scallop Nested Circle Dies. For the pink circle, I first ink-blended with Do-Si-Do and then added splatters of water. I attached my images with a combination of liquid adhesive and foam and affixed the layered circles to my card with foam squares. I finished the card with a heat-embossed sentiment from the Woodland Christmas Friends set.
