Hello there! Today I’m sharing a fun, interactive, graduation card. I used products from Pear Blossom Press for the light feature; their products make creating interactive cards easy-peasy, lemon-squeezy!

That adorable cat is from Spellbinders’ Congrats Cat Dies. I diecut all of the elements from colored cardstock and assembled him with a combination of liquid adhesive and thin foam squares. Next, it was time to create the interactive background!

First, I hot-foiled white cardstock with The Greetery’s Glow Hot Foil Plates in Polished Brass and Black Glimmer Foil. With a circle die from my stash, I diecut the centers of the brass starbursts and backed them with A2 colored vellum from Pear Blossom Press. I used the same circle die to create black circles for the centers of the black starbursts.

For the light mechanism, I used Pear Blossom Press’s EZ-Light. It is aptly named because all I had to do was tape the wires to the back of the cardstock – no circuits to fool with. Plus, each light is sold with a battery! After I had secured the light to my panel, I applied two layers of foam tape to the cardstock and attached it to my cardbase.

For the frame I diecut black cardstock with Spellbinders’ Emerald Cut Labels and Tag Dies. I heat-embossed “push” from the PB Press Stamp before gluing the frame to my card, after which I attached that cute kitty.

For my main sentiment, I diecut “yay” from Scrapbook.com’s Yay Tag Dies out of black and aqua cardstocks and layered them together. My sub-sentiment is from Spellbinders’ Mini Everyday Sentiments Glimmer Plate & Die set (retired) and was foiled with Polished Brass Glimmer Foil.
Thanks for stopping by! Pear Blossom Press has so many, fun ways to make your cards interactive, and I can’t wait to share another project with you soon!
