Hi there! I’m so excited to share one of the new stamps from Crafty Meraki’s April release!

I love peonies (I know I’ve said that before), so I was tickled pink to see the new Peony Parade stamp set. Rather than pull out my Copics, I decided to emboss resist those beautiful blooms instead.

I inked up the stamp (all of the images are on one stamp) with Versamark ink and heat-embossed it with WOW! Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder. Then I “colored” the images with distress inks. For the pink, I used Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves, and for the green I blended with Mowed Lawn and Lucky Clover. I used post-it notes to mask surrounding images and employed a variety of blending brushes, including detail ones. Once I was finished ink-blending, I lightly buffed the embossing with a towel to remove any excess ink and cut out the images with the coordinating die.

To create a background for my images, I started with a panel of light blue cardstock. Over it I placed a stencil from my stash and blended with Tumbled Glass distress ink. I created a frame from white cardstock with Spellbinders’ Notched Corner Frames Dies and adhered it to the panel, which I affixed to a white card.

My sentiment is from the Gilded Greetings Hot Foil Plate. I foiled it with Bright Pink Glimmer Foil and diecut it with the coordinating die. I arranged my florals onto my card, adhering some with foam, and also popped up my sentiment. For a bit of sparkle, I finished with a scattering of clear sequins.
