Blue Lilies

Blue Lilies

Hi there! Today I’m sharing a card featuring Crafty Meraki’s Artisan Flora Lily Dies.

Recently, I was looking at pictures of lilies on the web and ran across some gorgeous, blue ones. I don’t know if they exist, but I couldn’t resist creating some with Crafty Meraki’s Artisan Flora Lily Dies.

First, I diecut all of the elements from pale blue and lime green cardstocks. To the blue diecuts, I added Catherine Pooler’s Something Borrowed and Drive-in inks, and on the green ones, I used Rustic Wilderness Distress Ink. To create the pollen on the stamens, I added WOW! Embossing Pen to the tips, sprinkled on Lemon Twist Embossing Powder, and heat-set it with my heat tool. I repeated those steps with Orange Twist Embossing Powder until I was happy with the look. I assembled the blooms by gluing the bottom petals to the base layer and popping up the other petal layers with varying heights of foam squares.

For my sentiment I used my favorite , Gilded Greetings Hot Foil Plate. I applied Polished Brass Glimmer Foil with the plate and diecut the phrases with the coordinating die. I love that you get so many sentiments at one time!

To keep the focus on those stunning lilies, I left the rest of the card pretty simple. I cut white cardstock with Spellbinders’ Notched Corner Frames Dies and adhered the diecut to a white card.

I adhered my floral diecuts onto my card, starting with the two large blooms. I popped them up with a foam square in the middle of the bloom so I could tuck in the other pieces. I affixed the buds with a thin foam square behind the bud and liquid glue on the stem and attached the foliage with liquid adhesive.

I popped up my sentiment with foam and finished with a scattering of Prismatic Blue gems. I just love how this turned out!
