Layered Wildflowers: Combining Diecuts and Texture

Hi, friends! I know it’s been a minute since I posted here, but May was a super busy month. However, I’m happy to be able to get back to crafting.

Today, I’m sharing a pair of cards I created with a couple of products from Spellbinders’ new Wildflowers Collection. The Layered Wildflowers Dies create three different flowers with oodles of texture and detail.

First, I used the Layered Wildflowers Dies to create these beautiful poppies. I diecut the floral elements from colored cardstocks and added a little ink to the petals before assembling them with liquid adhesive.

I diecut the blue and white ovals with the new Scallop and Stitched Edge Ovals Dies. I adhered the poppies to the blue oval, popping up the blooms with thin 3D foam squares, and trimmed the excess from the stems. Next, I attached the blue oval to the white scalloped oval.

Using the Field Notes 3D Embossing Folder, I dry-embossed a panel of grey cardstock. I trimmed down the panel, affixed it to a white cardbase, and popped up the layered ovals with foam tape. I hot foiled a sentiment from the Curved Everyday Sentiments Hot Foil Plate with Gold Glimmer Foil, diecut it with the coordinating die, and adhered it with foam. I finished with a few gold pearls from my stash.

For my second card, I created these sweet, pink daisies using different dies from the Layered Wildflowers Dies. I diecut the flower pieces from colored cardstocks and added a little blending with coordinating inks. For the vase, I diecut light blue cardstock with the Scallop and Stitched Edge Ovals Dies and added dimension with a coordinating ink.

I dry-embossed a panel of ivory cardstock with the Tile Mosaic 3D Embossing Folder (retired). After slightly trimming the panel, I adhered it to a white cardbase and popped up the vase with foam. I affixd the daisies with varying heights of foam.

I added a sentiment created with the Curved Everyday Sentiments Hot Foil Plate – this time on white cardstock – and Champagne Glimmer Foil. For some sparkle I finished with a scattering of gems.
