Pastel Birthday Card

Pastel Birthday Card

Hello there! Today I’m sharing a sweet, pastel birthday card using products from Crafty Meraki. I struggle with pastel themes because I have a hard time stopping myself from adding more and more color. ‘Hope you like it!

Aren’t those image so sweet?! They’re from Crafty Meraki’s Birthday Bears stamp set. I think this card would be perfect for a little girl, don’t you?

I started by stamping several images from Birthday Bears with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored them with Copics and cut them out with the coordinating dies. I couldn’t resist adding some details and highlights with a white gel pen.

Doesn’t that patterned paper from the Color Cascade Paper Pad match my images perfectly?! I didn’t even plan that, choosing the paper after I had colored my images. I trimmed the paper to slightly smaller than A2 size to allow a white border from my cardbase (It helps tie in with the white border on my images). For the scalloped white panel, I transferred Opal Glimmer Foil with the Fern Lattice Hot Foil Plate and diecut it with a rectangle die from my stash. I love the soft hint of color and shine!

I adhered the patterned paper to a white card with double-sided adhesive. Next, I attached my white rectangle with foam tape.

I popped up my colored images onto the white rectangle with varying thicknesses of foam – thin foam for the cake and presents and thicker foam for the bear and banner. I stamped a sentiment from Birthday Bears with Versamark ink and heat-embossed it with WOW! Opaque White Embossing Powder. After trimming the sentiment, I attached it with foam tape. I finished the card with some pearlescent confetti from my stash.
