Blissfully Scrappy

Hi there! Long time no see, right?!! I’ve been busy with family stuff this summer, but I couldn’t resist hopping on the Christmas-in-July train. For my SEA-sonal card, I used products from My Pretty Things.

This card combines images from the See You At the Beach set released last year with ones from the newly-released See You At the Beach Holiday Add-on set. Also new this year are coloring stencils for the images in the See You At the Beach set.

To color the images from the OG set, I applied dye inks through the See You At the Beach Coloring Stencils with MPT’s Shading Blender Brushes. Next, I colored the Holiday Add-on images with Copics. While I adore Copic-coloring, I gotta say these stencils save SO MUCH time!! I diecut the images with the coordinating die sets for both stamp sets and added details and highlights with a white gel pen.

The Nested Rope Frame Dies reminded me of candy canes, so I diecut the largest die from red cardstock to frame my images. For a beachy background, I blended a panel of white cardstock with tan and blue distress oxides and added some water splatter. I diecut the panel with the same rope die so that I could nestle the background in the opening of the red frame. I adhered both diecuts to the front of a white card. NOTE: The rope die measures 4″ x 6″, and my card measures 4 1/4″ x 6 3/8″.

I arranged my images onto the card using varying heights of foam adhesive. I heat-embossed a sentiment from the See You At the Beach Holiday Add-on set and diecut it with the Everyday Sentiment Strips Dies. I popped up my sentiment with foam to finish the card.
